Instructions:
1. **Prepare Soya Chaap:**
Wash the soya chaap thoroughly. Parboil them in hot water for about 5-7 minutes. Drain and let them cool.
2. **Prepare Soya Chaap Marinade:**
In a bowl, mix together Curd (Dahi), ginger garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, coriander powder, salt, lemon juice, and vegetable oil to create a smooth marinade.
3. **Marinate Soya Chaap:**
Coat the parboiled soya chaap with the marinade. Ensure each piece is well-coated. Cover the bowl and let it marinate for at least 2-4 hours, or preferably overnight in the refrigerator.
4. **Assemble Shashlik Skewers:**
Thread the marinated soya chaap, bell pepper chunks, onion chunks, and cherry tomatoes onto skewers, alternating the ingredients.
5. **Preheat the Grill or Oven:**
If using a grill, preheat it to medium-high heat. If using an oven, preheat it to the highest setting (usually around 475°F or 245°C) with the broiler on.
6. **Grill or Broil:**
Place the skewers on the grill or in the oven. Cook for about 1520 minutes, turning occasionally, until the soya chaap and vegetables are cooked and have a nice char on the edges.
7. **Baste with Oil:**
Baste the skewers with vegetable oil during grilling for added moisture and flavor.
8. **Check for Doneness:**
Ensure the soya chaap and vegetables are fully cooked.
9. **Serve:**
Sprinkle chaat masala (optional) and serve the Punjabi Soya Chaap Shashlik hot with lemon wedges.
